Inspiration breeds process. How we get from here to there can be complicated. I often start with an idea that takes on a life of its own. I try to force the process one way and it invariably goes off in another direction. "Geisha Contemplates Her Past" is one of those images. I struggled with her for months before I finally let her take me where she needed to go. It didn't occur to me until I was almost finished that the filigreed border with "Fox Co" printed in the corners needed to be included in the final print. I like the fact that most viewers initially neglect to see this detail. It gives them something to discover later.
